DuVernay was assigned to the look-out and search for the house for a specific Jury member. In the course of her duties she was dissatisfied with journalism and moved into the publicity business. DuVernay joined a small studio as a junior publicist shortly after graduating from college. The DuVernay Agency is her first agency for public relations.
